Shockingly Powerful Lightning on Earth | Space News

A new scientific paper suggests that lightning on Earth may be vastly more powerful than conventional science has ever suggested. Investigators sought to answer how much energy is in a terrestrial bolt of lightning through the study of fulgurites, which are hollow glass tubes that form when lightning strikes soil, silica, sand, or rock. To their surprise, they found that the lightning that formed some of the fulgurites had far more energy than is expected of Earthly lightning.

Opening the Doors to the Invisible - Manly P. Hall

Russian Hackers Said To "Penetrate US Electricity Grid" Using Outdated Ukrainian Malware

Two days after the DHS and FBI released a report revealing what the US agencies alleged was the government-controlled Russian operation behind the "hacking of the US election" which they dubbed "Grizzly Steppe", and which had a peculiar disclaimer according to which nothing contained in the report should be taken at face value or was even credible after the DHS said it "does not provide any warranties of any kind regarding any information contained within"...
... overnight the crusade against "Russian hackers" continued following news that Russian cyberspecialists had managed to penetrate the Vermont electric grid, after a state utility, Burlington Electric, announced it had found a notebook computer containing the same malware code that the FBI and DHS had touted as linked to the Russian hackers.
According to WaPo, "Burlington Electric said in a statement that the company detected a malware code used in the Grizzly Steppe operation in a laptop that was not connected to the organization’s grid systems. The firm said it took immediate action to isolate the laptop and alert federal authorities." On Friday night, Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin (D) called on federal officials “to conduct a full and complete investigation of this incident and undertake remedies to ensure that this never happens again.”
As a reminder, this Thursday when Obama unveiled sanctions against Russia and announced the expulsion of Russian state workers in the worst diplomatic clash between the two nations since the cold war, concurrently the FBI and DHS released a joint report on the "Grizzly Steppe" a hacking operation which was supposedly linked to the Russian government, and alleged that it had targeted “US persons and institutions, including from US political organizations.” In reality what they described in the report, was the simplest of spoofing operations, in which the "hackers involved in the Russian operation used fraudulent emails that tricked their recipients into revealing passwords." In other words, if simple email spoofing - i.e., relying on the stupidity of its "American targets- was the best the Russian government could do to "hack the US elections", then the US had little reason to be concerned.

Which is why the US felt the need to add to the sense of urgency overnight when it accused the same "government-organized group of hackers" as having penetrated the Vermont electric grid.
Along with the report, the US security agencies released a sample of the malware code allegedly used in the Grizzly Steppe operation to compromise US computer networks. The code was also shared with executives from 16 industries around the nation, including the financial, utility, and transportation sectors.  It is this code which Burlington Electric, a Vermont-based utility, allegedly found.
The company released a statement on Friday night saying that the malware code had been detected during a scan of a single company laptop. However, soon after publication of the Post’s story, it was revealed that the malware had only infected a utility company laptop that had no access whatsoever to the electrical grid. As noted by Politico cybersecurity reporter Eric Geller, the Post quickly edited its headline upon learning that the incident was far less serious than initially reported.

Italy Urges Europe To Begin Censoring Free Speech On The Internet

First it was the US, then Germany blamed much of what is wrong in society on "fake news", and not, say, a series of terrible decisions made by politicians. Now it is Italy's turn to call for an end to "fake news", which in itself would not be troubling, however, the way Giovanni Pitruzzella, head of the Italian competition body, demands the European Union "cracks down" on what it would dub "fake news" is nothing short of a total crackdown on all free speech, and would give local governments free reign to silence any outlet that did not comply with the establishment propaganda.
In an interview with the FT, Pitruzzella said the regulation of false information on the internet was best done by the state rather than by social media companies such as Facebook, an approach taken previously by Germany, which has demanded that Facebook end "hate speech" and has threatened to find the social network as much as €500K per "fake" post.
Pitruzzella, head of the Italian competition body since 2011, said "EU countries should set up independent bodies — co-ordinated by Brussels and modeled on the system of antitrust agencies — which could quickly label fake news, remove it from circulation and impose fines if necessary."
In other words, a series of unelected bureaucrats, unaccountable to anyone, would sit down and between themselves decide what is and what isn't "fake news", and then, drumroll, "remove it from circulation." On the other hand, coming one week after Obama give Europe the green light to engage in any form of censorship and halt of free speech that it desires, when the outgoing US president voted into law the  "Countering Disinformation And Propaganda Act", it should come as no surprise that a suddenly emboldened Europe is resorting to such chilling measures.
So with Europe on the verge of rolling out unbridled censorship, here is the strawman used to justify it.
“Post-truth in politics is one of the drivers of populism and it is one of the threats to our democracies,” Pitruzzella told the FT. “We have reached a fork in the road: we have to choose whether to leave the internet like it is, the wild west, or whether it needs rules that appreciate the way communication has changed. I think we need to set those rules and this is the role of the public sector.”
Translation: it will soon be up to Brussles to decide what content on the Internet is appropriate for broad European consumption, because unless a bureaucrat intervenes "fake news" will lead to even more populism and not, say, years of failed political reform, and central bank decisions.
In short, it's all the internet's fault that Europe's legacy political system is reeling from an unprecedented anti-establishment backlash, which has nothing to do with, well, anything else.
As the FT notes, Pitruzzella’s call comes amid growing concern over the impact of fake news on politics in western democracies, including in this year’s UK Brexit vote and the US election. In Germany, which faces parliamentary elections in 2017, the government is planning a law that would impose fines of up to €500,000 on social media companies for distributing fake news.
Allies of Matteo Renzi, the former prime minister, have also complained that fake news contributed to his defeat in the December referendum on constitutional reform, which led to his resignation, even though he lost by a wide 20-percentage point margin. At least they haven't blamed Russian hackers... yet.
So even assuming limiting free speech is the answer, why not force potential offenders to companies to police themselves?
Well, according to Pitruzzella it would be inappropriate to leave this task to social media self-regulation. “Platforms like Facebook have created great benefits for people and customers: they are doing their part as an economic entity in adopting policies to modify their algorithms to reduce this phenomenon”, he said. “But it is not the job of a private entity to control information. This is historically the job of public powers. They have to guarantee that information is correct. We cannot delegate this completely.”
We know of at least one Italian who would agree.

The Walls Have Ears: Warrant Granted for Amazon Echo Home Data, Setting Precedent

December 29, 2016   |   Alice Salles

(ANTIMEDIA) Technology has, for the better part of the last decade, changed our lives in significant and groundbreaking ways. But as technology continues to make great strides, helping us change the way we do business and live our lives, it is also employed by bureaucrats looking to keep an eye on everyone.
Thanks to Edward Snowden and others before him, like former U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) intelligence officialWilliam Binney, we now know U.S. officials make use of secret courts to gain access to phone records — ignoring due process and, of course, the 4th Amendment to the U.S. constitution. But even though the NSA revelations were widely discussed and privacy advocates have continued to press legislators and officials to justify the illegality of their actions, things seem to have only gotten worse — at least as far as official government policy is concerned.
Instead of reforming the system to make sure officials observe the constitution, laws have been passed to increase the government’s access to technologies used widely by Americans and visitors. The result? The widespread normalizationof government spying.
Instead of sweeping outrage, many Americans continue to feel that being spied upon is part of their everyday lives — and that instead of fighting it, they should embrace it as a means to protect the country from external forces.
To nearly half of the population, recent news about a court order regarding a private Amazon Echo may not seem as shocking as it should.

Warrant Issued for Amazon Echo Device, Setting a Precedent

A case involving a murder in Arkansas just helped the public learn that companies like Amazon often retain recordings of people’s conversations through devices like Amazon Echo — and that these recordings are stored in servers that may later be subject to law enforcement investigations. Depending on how the case shapes up, it could set a legal precedentthat would open up government access to similar smart devices, and even force companies to keep these recordings in storage for future investigations.
The first warrant naming this specific device was tied to a Bentonville, Arkansas, murder that happened in November 2015. The official document asked the company to release “any recordings between November 21 and November 22, 2015.” The Amazon Echo device in question belongs to James Andrew Bates, the suspect facing a first-degree murder charge associated with the death of his friend, Victor Collins. Collins was allegedly strangled and drowned in Bates’ hot tub.
In the search warrant, police wrote that the “records … retained by Amazon.com … are evidence related to the case under investigation.” Nevertheless, Amazon did not release any data. Instead, the company provided investigators with the suspect’s account details, which include past purchases. Despite Amazon’s decision not to cooperate unless “a valid and binding legal demand properly [is] served,” officials may still be able to recover information from the device’s speakers without the company’s help.
Even without Amazon’s help,” CNET reported, “police may be able to crack into the Echo” by tapping “into the hardware on the smart speakers, which could ‘potentially include time stamps, audio files or other data.'”
Other smart devices covered by this warrant included Collins and Bates’ phones, a wireless weather monitoring system, a WeMo device used for lighting, a Nest thermostat, and a Honeywell alarm system.
If this case serves as an example of anything, it is that your privacy is not protected, even if companies like Amazon refuse to cooperate with law enforcement under certain circumstances. With or without a warrant, officials will continue to use similar devices against their owners.
Regardless of what law enforcement finds on Bates’ Amazon Echo, evidence gathered by smart devices will continue to be employed by government officials. The only way to protect yourself is to follow good online security practices, which will help to protect your data from future breaches.

PROOF Millions Injected, Dead Babies,Monkey’s,Formaldehyde,Detergents,Paint Chemicals,Aluminum

A wonder cocktail of sweet poison has been injected into Millions of people under the disguise of "Vaccines" and preventative disease. If you've ever heard there is dead baby cells in vaccines and thought it was a conspiracy, the conspiracy is reality. This information and more is presented in this quick podcast. Had the opportunity to go onto Douglas Dietrichs radio program the other day which reaches tens of thousands of people and felt this information was important. Thimerosal is old news and still used in some vaccines. Don't get me wrong that stuff is bad and certainly not good for any life form, however there is stuff in vaccines many people don't know about, or don't believe, so this podcast presents the information, publicly available if you read the inserts.

Some Thoughts On Assassins Creed

I will not talk about how good or bad the action scenes were, that I will leave to others. What sparked my disgust is the main theme of the movie. Hollywood has a tendency to give us some some type of truths, packaged into movies and TV series.

I will not spoil the movie, but concentrate of the main topic.

The Templars want to retrieve an artifact, the apple of Eden. The seeds of this apple contain the secret of our free will and whoever controls that apple can control our free will.
For starters, nowhere in the Bible does it say that the fruit was an apple, it simply says fruit. The apple story is derived from paintings, that's it.

The next thing that is disturbing to a sound mind is the fact that once again someone turns an allegory into a real thing. The Bible is not a history book, it is a book about the mind. Turning it into a real story is the lowest understanding one can have. If you are not familiar with this concept of Bible allegories, check out the work of Bill Donahue, Jordan Maxwell, Manly P Hall and Santos Bonacci. There is enough information out there.

But the real cookie for me was that according to the Templars in this movie, the real problem of humanity is our free will. Isn't that neat? That other stellar races have messed with us for Aeons is not the problem. The criminal banking system of the Templars is not the problem, although we all know that modern slaves do not wear chains, they are simply in debt. Crooked religious systems are not the problem, no, free will is the problem and must be brought under control. Everything of course for our own good. LOL

One scene that I found particularly revealing was when one of the Templars started bitching about how they tried to control us by means of religion, politics and consumerism. Guess what, it did not really work. Poor guy, he is so desperate in his lust for control that he goes for real bizarre "scientific" experiments to close the door for humanity once and for all.

Art mimicking life? Who knows?

I know, I know, it is based on a game and that is what it is, a game. A load of bull wrapped in an action movie.

Well then, let the games begin! We keep our free will!

US expels 35 Russian diplomats, closes 2 compounds

Obama Under "Intense Pressure" To Release Evidence Proving Russians Hacked The Election

As noted previously, at some point today the White House is set to unveil new sanction, and other retaliatory "measures" against Russia and specifically the Kremlin, in retaliation for what according to a constantly repetitive narrative has been Russian hacking of the US election. Obama will do so by using a 2015 executive order that would allow the president to freeze the US assets of Russians overseas who have engaged in cyber acts, even though such order only applies to actions that have threatened U.S. national security or financial stability, neither of which have yet been invoked in the current "hacking" scandal.  Further, per a "senior administration official," use of the existing law would require (1) actual election infrastructure to be designated as 'critical infrastructure' and (2) the administration to prove that such infrastructure was actually "harmed," conditions which the National Security Council say have not been met.
The problem is that if the administration relies on the 2015 Executive Order to launch this latest round of diplomatic "retaliation", it will also have to demonstrate some proof that the individuals or entities it names were involved in the scheme, and until now, the White House has provided no documentation to back up its official October assessment that the Russian government was attempting to “interfere” in the U.S. election besides just repeating the allegation over and over and over, as if that somehow makes it true.
Which perhaps is why this morning The Hill writes that the Obama administration is "under intense pressure to release evidence confirming Russian interference in the presidential election before leaving office."
As the website correctly note, "the administration up until now has provided little documentation to back up its official October assessment that the Russian government was attempting to “interfere” in the U.S. election." Actually, it has provided exactly zero documentation, but that has not stopped the media machine from parroting the claims and repeating it ad nauseam, in hopes the emotional appeals through repetition will make it factual.
Just as bad, the Hill also writes that nor has Obama "corroborated subsequent leaks from anonymous officials contending that the CIA believes the campaign was an attempt by Russian President Vladimir Putin to ensure Donald Trump’s victory."
So where are we in the process of producing evidence? Apparently nowhere:
President Obama has ordered the intelligence community to produce a complete review of its findings before Trump takes office on Jan. 20. The White House has said it will make as much of the report public as it can. But officials have warned that the document will contain “highly sensitive and classified information” and it is unclear how much concrete evidence it will be able to release.

Releasing any documentation of Russian interference would be a slap in the face to Trump, who has rejected assertions that the Kremlin was involved in the hacks on the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta. The president-elect and his team have treated any suggestion of Russian involvement as an attack on the legitimacy of his election win, and Republican leaders in Congress have treaded carefully on the issue.
Well, let Obama released the proof first, then we'll worry about "slaps in faces." For now, all we have are ever louder, if unsubstantiated allegations by the CIA:

[Photos] Before & After in Aleppo and Why We Need an Antiwar Movement

Where is the antiwar movement today?
I’ve heard it said recently that people care more about Star Wars than they do about real wars, and sadly, this rings true as a condemnation of modern society. People just don’t seem to care about peace.
Somehow, the powers that be have been able to push the horrors of war from the front page and out of the evening news so that we don’t think too much about it. They’ve made it so that we don’t see the caskets of our soldiers arriving home by cargo plane. They’ve made it so that war correspondents are embedded as part of the military and thereby so dependent and so awestruck by the task of soldiering that they dare not report objectively. They’ve managed to create a world where war is the health of the state.
2016 marked the most terribly divisive election in U.S. history and while people found many issues to argue about, practically no one on either side of the left/right paradigm stood against the Orwellian permanent war and asked the candidates what they could or would do to bring an end to conflict.
President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing more than smiling at the cameras and smoothly reading a teleprompter, yet he stands as the only U.S. president in the entire 240 year history of America to serve an entire two terms in office while being at war every single day. And somehow, people are still willing to boast of his benevolence and good will, all the while bombs keep falling on foreign nations with absolutely zero effort, interest or leadership in forging a path to peace.
And now, as the people of the world are being dragged into a potential global conflict with Russia, of which Syria may well serve as the epicenter, the president-elect has just announced plans to increase and update America’s stockpile of nuclear weapons.
Events in Syria are desperately clouded by propaganda. Parties on both sides, or all sides, whatever they may be, are distorting truth and twisting it to support arguments for escalation. The war on terror has grown into a war on everyone and everything, engineered to commoditize fear on behalf of themilitary industrial complex.
What will it take for us to reignite our passion for peace and humanity? What will it take to shock and awe us into shutting down the dogs of war? How much more death and destruction do we need to see? How many more dead and mangled children need to be rolled out onto the front pages of international papers? How many more refugees must we create before we unite and demand an end to the madness?
Olympia Restaurant in the embattled Syrian city of Aleppo has compiled an extensive collection of before and after photos documenting the tragic destruction of this ancient metropolis of architectural and cultural treasures. A look through this file is a voyage through pain, suffering, cruelty, and the mindless horror of war.
“Images shows how it was our beloved city Aleppo and how it is now after sabotage and destruction and looting and burning the monuments and historical places, old houses, mosques, churches and the historical old markets (Souks) which are classified as Sites of World Heritage by UNESCO since 1986.” [Source]
The city was populated by over 2 million people and has been under siege by several opposing factions in a brutal civil war since 2012.
“The UN no longer keeps track of the death toll due to the inaccessibility of many areas and the complications of navigating conflicting statistics put forward by the Syrian government and armed opposition groups. ” [Source]
The U.N. estimates that some 400,000 people have died in the last six years of conflict in Syria, with nearly 5 million refugees fleeing to Europe.
A quote from the Olympia Restaurant:
“From the far distant future a city is born, a city that will finally make a change.
We live in a world that is full of man’s mistakes, full of unhealthy and bad habits, so if we were not worried enough about ourselves, we should be worried about our children!!” [Source]

It seems like the only solution is total destruction, yet in our hearts we know that war is the most unnecessary evil of mankind. Will 2017 be the year of the revival for a legitimate antiwar movement, or will it be the beginning of world war III?
